A deposit of R1000.00 will be paid on confirmation of Function Date. This deposit is non-refundable if function is cancelled.

Cancellation

In the event of non-payment of the deposit within the time specified, SCHOONGEZICH shall be entitled to cancel a provisional booking without further notice or liability to the client.

Unless specified elsewhere, the client will be entitled to vary the number of persons attending the function by up to 10% of the originally notified number at any time up to 7 days prior to the date of the function. Bearing in mind that should this variance be below the minimums mentioned previously, clients will automatically still be billed for the specified minimum.

Please note:

Charge for non arrivals cannot be credited.

SCHOONGEZICH reserves the right to cancel any booking forthwith and without liability in its part in the event of any damage to, or destruction of the venue by fire, shortage of labour, strikes, industrial unrest, or any other cause beyond the control of SCHOONGEZICH, which shall prevent it from performing its obligations. In these circumstances every effort will be made to find an alternative venue.

All changes and cancellations must be confirmed in writing by the client.

Should a client need to cancel a reservation, a refund, at management's discretion, will be made. This will only be made in the event of our ability to re-sell the venue for a similar function on the date which the function was booked.

CO-ORDINATION SERVICE

The services of our Co-ordinator, is available to clients throughout the planning stages of their functions. The Co-ordinator will be available for consultation and assistance a maximum of 5 Hours.

This service is supplied at no extra cost to our clients and covers ongoing consultation and assistance to the final arrangements.

FURNITURE & EQUIPMENT for hire

Silver Underplates can be provided at an additional cost of R5 per under plate.

Red Carpet can be provided at an additional cost of R300 per function/wedding.

Round tables can be hired at an additional cost of R100 per table.

The provision of SCHOONGEZICH standard supply of furniture and equipment is at no extra charge.
Please ensure, in advance of your function, that the equipment requested is satisfactory.
Any additional items not listed under "MENU PRICES" should be supplied or hired by the client at the client's own cost.

Music & Flowers

Music to terminate punctually at 23h00 as this is a Residential Area. Last guests to leave the venue at 24h00.

MENU SELECTION

A selection of menu items will be offered and served subject to quality and/or supplier and seasonal availability.

We are open to discussion should client require a particular flavour to their menu with regard to majority guest attendance or concept requirements.

All prices quoted are including VAT prevailing when the contract is prepared and are subject to alteration should the rate change.
We always pre-pair more food, then necessary to make sure it is more than enough. But we appreciate your understanding that no take-aways are allowed.

CHILDREN

Children attending functions must be supervised at all times. We do have an open swimming pool and ponds on our premises; and we don't take any responsibility of injury to children. Any damage to property will be charged to your account.

Children between the ages of 8-11 years will be charged 50% of the agreed adult menu price. Children between the ages of 4-7 years will be charged 35% of the agreed adult menu price. No charge for children under the age of 3 years.

SERVICE CHARGE

A service charge of 10% covering the cost of waiting staff is automatically added to food bill.

BAR SERVICES

We require clients to brief us with regard to their requirements for the provision of a cash bar, full bar or wine and malt bar on their account.

FULL BAR:

Includes the supply of a range of imported beers and spirits.

LOCAL BAR:

Includes the supply of local brand only.

COCKTAILS:

Are only served on client's request.

Clients are welcome to set a ceiling on the total bar spent for their account. In order to maintain control of this account, we are willing to supply a regular reconciliation of the bar account during the function. Our management team assists clients by advising them as how to save on and control bar accounts where necessary.

NO LIQUOR OR FOOD WHATSOEVER MAY BE BROUGHT ONTO, OR REMOVED FROM THESE PREMESIS. THIS IS A LICENCED PREMISES.

If non-wine list wines are requested, clients will be expected to purchase the total number of units which has been ordered for the function, irrespective of whether consumed at the function or not. Any changes to the bar requirements at any stage are to be done in writing.

RISK / LOSS / DAMAGES

SCHOONGEZICH shall not be held liable for interruptions of services (water, electricity, sanitary services).

Whilst every precaution will be taken to ensure the safeguarding of your belongings, SCHOONGEZICH will not be liable for loss or damage to any property whatsoever (décor props, valuables, etc).

We recommend that all personal and valuable property be removed directly after the function.

Décor and props may be removed by 09:00 on the day following the function subject to prior arrangement and approval of management.

Should the décor or napery of SCHOONGEZICH be damaged in any way during the set up time and period of the function, the client shall be held responsible for such damages. You will also be held responsible for replacing linen damaged by candle wax. Candles should have holders large enough for wax to drip into.

Payment of function

The total food account must be settled 3 days prior to function.

The balance of the payment owing i.e. liquor account, any extras apart from the food account, will become due on receipt of the final invoice.

If payment is not received within 7 days, an R400.00 late fee will be charged.

SCHOONGEZICH can, at its discretion, amend the due date if deemed necessary. An additional interest of 2% will be added to outstanding amounts of money.

DAMAGING

Tampering with the curtains, furniture and fixtures will not be tolerated.  No glue, pres-stick, nails, pins or any form of tape may be used to paste, stick, gum or nail any decorations to the walls, fixtures or fittings.

Any table cloths, linens or serviettes that are damaged due to candles or candle wax drippings will be charged to your account.

Damage that occur to table cloths due to smoking will be charged to your account.

FUNCTION HOURS

SCHOONGEZICH reserves the right to hold multiple functions on the same date as your function, either in the same room, prior to or after your function.  The room will be available a minimum of 3 hours prior to your function for set-up purposes.

These hours serves as a guideline and can be changed if arranged with function co-ordinator.

Schoongezich Guesthouse closes for functions at 24:00, no additional hours will be allowed. All function guests needs to be of the premises by 24:00.

PRICE INCREASES

Prices are subject to revision annually. As a general indication a minimum increase of 10% will apply on all costs.
